Black screen after log off in Windows Vista
Almost every time I log off from my user account, the screen turns black and the welcome screen with all of the accounts never appears, even after half an hour. It only happens when I log off from my own account, the other two don't have this problem. About two months ago, I transferred all of my data to a new user account. It worked without a hitch until yesterday. I did not install anything (except Windows Updates, and other 3rd-party updates). The day before it started, nothing was installed or updated. Why is this happening? What's wrong? How can I solve it without making a new account (which is a huge hassle) if it's possible? Thanks a lot in advance!

1. Are there any traces in event logs? Reveal the content of event logs. 2. It is not easy to guess what happened to your profile. I am pretty sure, that it does not happened without any cause. 3. Scan the system http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html 4. Update video driver 5. Migrate the user with USMT Regards Milos PS: Under the line. I am afraid that you landed in wrong forum. Here are in focus networking topics of Windows 7. I do not see any networking problem in your case.

1. I'll check, and I'll tell you if there's something soon. 2. I'm pretty sure of that me too. 3. I'm doing it right now. 4. Done. 5. What's that? I don't know how I landed in this forum me neither, sorry. I have Windows Vista SP2, btw.
