Black screen after log-in on Windows 7 Home Premium
i have an Acer Aspire 7551g laptop and it came with 4g ram (2X2g) with the brand named "Elpida" so i bought 2x4g sticks to install from "Lexar" and now i get a black screen after i log on to my account. i open task manager and it says that explorer.exe is running but no desktop appears. i did a system restore and the desktop loaded up and then a program named Com+event.exe crashes. about 10 secs later an error appears then windows gives me the blue screen. i am in safe mode with networking right now so i can diagnose. doing a system restore didnt seem to help. also windows does register that i have 8g of ram. Home Premium maximum is 16gb(i have 64-bit) Please help me ASAP Thanks in advance Sudan2243

Hi Sudan2243, It seems the issue is caused by your 2x4g sticks. As Noel said, check your RAM firstly. Also update your BIOS to the latest one.
