Black screen, Bios good, No safe mode, No Cursor, no clue
I turn the computer on, it goes directly to a black screen. No beeps, no cursor, it will go to the safe mode screen but fails to proceed after any selection. It will also go to the bios screen. Any suggestions? Perhaps an easy fix?1 person needs an answerI do too

How old is the pc.If 3 yrs or more, the battery may be at fault, purchase new one. Most batteries are only good for 3 yrs, after that the OS & the data from the board fails. If battery is good,& all hardware is ok,unplug pc,remove battery for 5 minutes or so,reinstall battery, start pc.Once you start pc,tap proper key for BIOS,the BIOS is now set as it left the factory,time/date/configurations will all need to reset (BIOS updates remain intact).

I tried removing and reinstalling the battery and the problem still persists. After I removed the battery and reinstalled it, I started my pc to 2 beeps. Is that normal? And the computer is around four years old. It has been maintained very well and updated when needed. The computer was working fine when I shut it down for the night and when I tried to boot it up the next day it went to the black screen and has ever since. Is there any way to configure bios to get the computer to boot? I am above average when it comes to computers, but bios confuses me a bit. I have most of the bios specs wrote down, I don't know if they would be any use, but maybe their settings would flag out the issue with the black screen.Bios Ver, EV91510A.86A.0444Hyper threading EnabledProc speed 3.06GhzSys speed 533MhzSys Mem Speed 333MhzL2 cache ram 1 mbTot Mem 1024 mbMem mode Dual chanmem chan A slot 0 256 mb Slot 1 256 mb- B slot 0 256 mb slot 1 256 mbBoard info: Intel D915GAG version AAC64123-501Pci config- irq priority AutoBoot Config- max cpuid value limit disabledperipheral config- serial port A- auto --parallel port-auto--mode=bidirectionalVideo config- prim video adaptor autoframe buffer size 8 mbigd aperature size 256 mbdvmt mode= DVMTIGD DVMT/ Fixed mem =128mbsilent boot- disabledrapid bios boot disabledscan user flash area enabledpxe boot to LAN disabledusb boot enabledChassis intrusion disabledxd technology enabledI don't know if any of this may help, but I figured it couldnt hurt. I can type out any other info if needed. Thanks in advance.

If you cannot boot to last known good configuration then go to another computer and find SpotMau on web and create a boot disk (it is a few dollars but I have save many a computer's data this way - boots to a linux based menu system from the CD). You will need a external HD to back up your data to - you may be able to recover the system using a recovery disk. Or replace the hard disk and reinstall using the operating disks you created when you backed up.FIRST thing to try though is to remove all peripherals from the system (unplug all USB drives and printers etc) then reboot.
