Black desktop remains even after I activated Windows
Hi, I installed Windows 7n that I obtained from MSDN. I forgot to activate it after install so 1 month later I get the black screen and warning to activate. So I activated immediately and now the black screen remains, can anyone advise how to remove?

Hi Donalh35, 1) Reboot and press F8 2) Select "Repair my computer" 3) Select the keyboard layout and lanugage 4) When you reach system recovery tools, select Startup Repair. 5) Let it run and reboot. Any help?

I did the exact same thing and all I did was to go into Personalize and restore the background I had. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I can confrim that Rick Dee's advice works as this is what I've found to resolve the issue too. Although in the control panel the system will show as Activated for some reason it sticks with the black desktop until this is changed from the Personalize settings.
