Black Screen prior to log in, extremely slow PC and safe mode not accessible
Hi, I have a few strange errors, my Laptop has been running smoothly for a while, when suddenly (whilst installing a program) my Laptop froze, all the open applications just stopped working, and so I restarted my computer (after a while) and I selected "Start Windows Normally" as per usual, and the windows logo came up with it's little animation and the screen turned black, I waited a while (about 5-10 minutes) and eventually the login screen appeared, so I typed in my password and it logged me in, everything was yet again running slowly, I disabled all the pointless stuff (skype, etc) from starting up on boot (in my MSConfig) as I thought it might've been one of those... I restarted again after the freezing took place and instead of "Start windows normally" or any "safemod option" I saw "Start windows repair" or something like that, so I ran that and it eventually brought up a dialog stating that there was a problem but no way to fix it, I pressed okay and my PC shut down, I tried to launch it in Safe Mode next but it hung at PNP.dll or something like that... I've never experienced overheating issues with my PC before so I doubt they'd start now and if I try run a virus scan my Laptop BSOD's. I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y560 with Windows 7 Home Edition (64bit) and I am running two screens, I am a web developer and I am contimplating reformatting but I do not want to lose my work (but that's fine because I will just take out my HDD and back up) I can provide other information if needed (I can also try film it with my phone if you do not understand my errors) Thanks Regards Matthew
