Black Background Issue
This morning I booted to Windows 7 and my background was blank. All I see now is a black screen. I attempted to reset theme, but I then discovered that all of the images are blank. Unfortunately I do not have any further details as I am not sure what caused this problem.Has anyone else experienced this? If so, do you have any solutions?

HiThe first thing to try is to boot from the installation disc and use the repair options. Use the Startup Repair first. If this does not work, then try the System Restore option. Boot from the DVD.Let the files load. Screenshot Choose your language and click Next. Screenshot On the next screen, look in the lower/left of the screen and select the Repair your computer link. Screenshot The system will search the installations. Select the Windows 7 installation and click Next. Screenshot This will take you to the screen with the repair options. Screenshot Let us know the results. Ronnie Vernon MVP

Not to butt in but.... My theme was going black on occasion but I was able to get it back. I was using a folder with my own pictures. I switched to pictures that were included with the os and it seems to be ok now. Will switch back in a day or two.

I've seen the same thing.Logging out and then logging in fixed it for me (or possibly a restart). It gets rid of the black background, but eventually I get it again (suspect it is because I'm using slideshow for my background).

If your desktop should look like this: http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=capture1ye5.jpgThen changingyour graphics driver should help. I had the Windows Update installed adapter WDDM 1.1 and changed it to the 181.20 Nvidia which solved the problem.
