Bizairre behaviour of installed applications
Hi all. This is a weird one for me. We run an AD DS Domain, with Windows 7 Pro workstations. Most of the software oin the workstations was pre-installed as part of an image. Somtimes we need to install other applications after the user has been using an app for a while. Here's were the funny stuff starts happening. an example of this is that I've installed Dropbox on my PC. it works great, and loads when I log into my PC and does everything lovely. However, when other admins log into other computers, or servers, Dropbox loads! Dropbox doesn't exist on these other computers, or anywhere on the network.......... when you search for dropbox in the search box on windows 7 or server 2008, the dropbox icon appears, and when you right-click and choose properties to determine the location of this program, it's pointing at my pC via the admin share, pointing to the user profile appdata roaming folder on my PC!!! very strange! Any ideas? This has also happened with BBC IPLayer desktop has been installed on someone's PC. When anyone logs on anywhere, the exe that is in her PCs C drive tries to load. this is on any PC for any user. Any ideas people? Many thanks Dave

Hi, Does this issue occur to all applications? And does this issue occur to all computers? Have you set any folder redirection configurations? I suspect this is related to the roam profile and folder redirection settings. Please recheck these settings to check the result. Hi. We don't use roaming profiles but do use folder redirection. It does happen on all computers but not all applications.

Oh, I should add that we don't use folder redirection on the AppData (Roaming) Folder.
