Bitlocker recovery problem
Hi Guys,
Here is the situation:
My bitlocker-enabled hard drive after interrupted harddrive test (read-write) stopped working. The question is regarding the recovery process.
I ran repair-bde d: j: -rp xxxxx-...-xxxxx
It writes:
Scanning boot sectors for pointer to metadata: 100%
Finished scanning for BitLocker metadata.
LOG INFO: 0x00000027
Valid metadata at offset 3223060480 found at scan level 1.
LOG INFO: 0x00000028
Successfully created repair context.

...
100%
However, after the process, my j: drive is still unreadable with raw partition and inability to run chkdsk. Is there any way out of it?

The steps which you completed looks correct to me.
Now disconnect both the drives, connect the J drive to a different machine and then run chkdsk /r and let it complete.
If this does not work, then try
•repair-bde d: j: -rp -f -lf c:\log.txt
where J is the portable disk whereyou want the data and J drive should atlaeast be equal to D drive.
After repair-bde is completed, run chkdsk /r on J drive, then try to access your data.
Let me know how it goes.Manoj Sehgal
