Bitlocker messed up with my local disk D
Today I tried to encrypt my local disk D and I feel like it's taking too long and I cancelled it. I don't remember how I did the cancellation but as a result, my free space now only have 5gb left from 30gb before the encryption. Need help! Thanks

Hi, I suggest you run Disk Defragmenter and Disk Cleanup. If the free space does not increase, you may back up disk D manually and format it. Windows 7 - Disk Defragmenter - Open and Use http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html Hope that helps.

first check status of bitlocker. >manage-bde -status c: if disk is fully decrypted, then follow the below steps: when we enable bitlocker, we create a temporary file in c:\systemvolume folder which is a hidden folder. You need to take ownership of this folder. Then you will see a temporary file which will be around 24 gb. delete this file. you will get ur space back.Manoj Sehgal
