Hello everyone, So a colleague of mine configured MBAM for use with bitlocker deployment for all of our Windows 7 Laptops, and my entire team has been slowly deploying to the users. We have had 8 laptops fail to boot shortly after having their drives encrypted, where I was only able to recover one with Windows Startup Repair... the rest were so far gone that they eventually had to be reimaged.. hooking the disk up to another machine via USB > SATA saw it as a RAW unformatted disk so no data was recoverable. You can imagine this has people a little reluctant to go for the encryption. Any ideas on what could be causing this that I may need to change in our configuration? Since the drive is completely unusable, there are no logs that I can check. We use Dell Latitude laptops and there is no consistency with the machines that are failing. I would understand if it was only our 3 year old Latitude E6500's, but this is happening to both new and old.

For what it's worth I've rolled it out to 6220s and 6410's without issue. Both to SATA and SSD drives. Assuming you have MDOP since MBAM is on there, have you considered trying to use the DaRT tools to get some logs. I have deployed to quite a few laptops without any issues. Different HP's and Dells. All running Windows 7 x64. Obviously not having any error to go off is a bit tough. The disk should have two volumes. You primary and the volume around 300MB in size created from the BitLocker preparation Tool. Bitlocker should have locked you from accessing the data on the drive when connected to a different machine as the TPM chip will not be recognized. Thank you both for the helpful suggestions and taking time to reply. Since I haven't found a sure way to recreate the issue, I'm at the discretion of whenever one of the hard drives decides to crash, so until then there isn't a lot for me to try. Our MBAM/BitLocker guy insists he configured it properly, I intend to walk through that guide myself leo and doublecheck our configuration. Thanks again for posting that.
