Bitlocker Recovery Key Lost and the Drive is Locked , any help please?
Hi, May I know whether you lost your Bitlocker password or recovery key? If you lost both of them, I'm afraid there is no method to unlock Bitlocker. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprosecurity/thread/38752880-4421-4082-874a-849abe9e126a/Niki Han TechNet Community Support

I installed a new version of windows 8 consumer preview, before the installation I removed the password from the encrypted drive and after the installation the encrypted drive asked me to enter the (48-digits) recovery key to unlock the drive but I lost it. I'm still asking about what will happen if I reverted back to the previously windows version that's may be still have the access to the bitlocker encrypted drive , can I solve the problem if I do that? and if yes , can I do this the same steps descried here (knowing that I still have the (Windows.old Folder)?? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971760

Hi, I cannot guarantee you can access the encrypted drive successfully if restoring to original OS. However, it is the only way you can try on the current situation. Niki Han TechNet Community Support
