Bitlocker Password does not work at boot.
Hi, I have a user that has shown me their bitlocker password does NOT work and the system tries to have them enter their password again and again. After 3 or 4 tries, using the same password, they finally can get into windows. I have no issues typing in the manual recovery key, or using a USB recovery stick. I have tried having them change their pin, i have also tried having them install a temporary USB keyboard to use instead of their laptop keyboard - no luck. I have multiple laptops deployed with bitlocker, but this is the first with this issue. Are there any known problems with passwords not working to unlock a bitlocker protected computer? Is there a fix that can be performed, or a hotfix that i can install to address this? Thanx

Hi, did this issue appear before? Please login with administrator, remove bitlocker and reset it for test. And uninstall unnecessary software to see if the same issue appears. Furthermore, is there any information logged in Event Viewer or any error messages showed? If any security program is installed, try temp disabling it. Also test it in Safe Mode. The problem occurs at the first bitlocker screen directly after POST. Therefore there isn't any other 'users' to login as, this hits before safe mode is an option, and i don't understand why security software would stop the password from working when the pc is no where near having windows operating yet. My policy is set up for the computer tied to TPM and the users to use their primary 'pin' to get into their computer, or they can call me for the 48 digit pin, or i can use the usb unlock. This issues has been going on for the past couple weeks, but this laptop has had bitlocker initially installed since January. I have no other issues with other PCs with the same setup. The only thing in the event logs are "The BitLocker Drive Encryption Service service entered the running state." once the PC starts up into windows. However, i have tried to decrypt the HDD and i am in the middle of re-encrypting with bitlocker. if i continue to have the same issue right away or in the future i i'll update this post. thanx.

As of right now, i have not heard any complaints from the user. I redid both the bitlocker installation, and the TPM settings....If this issue does come back, i'll continue to post.
