Bitlocker Group Policy settings
Has anyone configured Group Policy to enforce bitlocker backups to AD DS in Windows 7 RC?I am ona Server2003 SP2 domain and have applied the schema extensionsreferenced inthe technet documentation here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd835565(WS.10).aspx. I am going through the GPMC settings from RSAT on the windows 7 PCbut do not see the same settings that I see if I go through the gpedit.msc on the sameWindows 7 PC (GPMC only has about 6 policy settings vs about 30 in the local group policy editor). Wondering if newer schema extensionsare needed that have not been released yetor if I am doing something wrong. Thanks,Andy

Did you create a Central Group Policy Template store? In that case you will have to update the ADMX/ADML templates in the store to reflect the Windows 7 settings for Group Policy.Ray

Yep, that did the trick, I forgot all about updating the store. Thanks for your help.

Can you tell us what you did to update the store? I have the same problem.

We had exactly the same issue as you did (eg: could only see a few bitlocker items in the group policy at domain level, but could see all bitlocker items at the local group policy level on a Windows 7 machine). The trick for us was to copy the admx/adml files (from a Windows 7 Enterprise SKU) to their respective locations in the central store in the domain sysvol. Once they replicated and we closed and reopened the GPMC and the GP we could see the original bitlocker settings as well as the additonal bitlocker settings for "Fixed Data Drives", "Operating System Drives", "Removeable Data Drives". Hope that helps someone as it took us a little while to work through that one :)
