Bitlocker Corrupted Drives
Hi I locked 4 hard disk drives with win7 Bitlocker. Yesterday I decided to remove bitlocker on all of them (simultaneously). But there was a power failure while the decryption. After that I switched on the computer and it froze on the Microsoft windows screen. I tried to reinstall Windows 7 but the same thing happened and I could not reinstall Windows 7 (the page appearing before installation freezes if the corrupted hard disk is connected). So I disconnected the hard disk and installed Windows 7 on another hard disk. Then I added corrupted hard disk and started Windows. Again Windows froze before starting (because the corrupted hard disk was connected to computer). I disconnected the corrupted hard disk and started windows and then reconnected corrupted hard disk but Windows did not recognized it And I could not reboot because corrupted hard disk deosn't let Windows 7 start. I have a Windows XP CD. I installed Windows XP on a free (not bitlocked) drive of corrupted hard disk. It started normally but corrupted bitlocked drives don't work even with "Bitlocker To Go Reader". now, how can I repair corrupted drives with Windows XP?! Please help. I have important data in corrupted drives.

you require win7 to repair bitlocker. winxp does not have bitlocker. it can only read a encrypted drive if you have a password to unlock it. repair-bde command can help you. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928201 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee706528Manoj Sehgal
