Bitlock recovery key
My son has a Surface Pro 3, running Windows 8.1, used for school, and he gets a message asking for the bitlock recovery key to be entered. He has no idea how this came about, but hasn't got the key to enter. How does he either disengage the key or get it to enter ?

Tony

He obviously enabled bitlocker encryption and without the recovery key it is virtually impossible to access the data.  It is what bitlocker is designed to do.

When Bitlocker was activated, it has forced you to save the key to external media or print it. That was mandatory, so try to remember where it is.

Hi tonycu28,

I agree with ZigZag and Ronald, we should be given an option to save the bitlocker recovery key when we enable the Bitlocker. We should take care of them carefully.

For the Surface Pro 3 product, we have a specific forum for it. They may have some good advices for you.
