Bit lock encryption on my external hard drive cant open with password and recovery key after restarted while it was encrypt. Its shows the request could not be performed because of an I/0 device error
When i enable bit lock encryption on my external hard drive, my laptop was accidentally restarted. After restart my laptop i find out that my drive is encrypt when i try open with password I put it says "the request could not be performed because of an I/0 device error". The is files in my external hdd. How recover my file from hdd and fix this error on my hdd. My os is Window 7 ultimate 64 bit. Please help me. Thanks

Hi, Before moving on troubleshooting, I suggest that you could check this issue in another working machine to determine whether this is an external hard drive related issue. If the this issue disappears, you could upgrade the USB controller on this machine. In case you use a NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset, you could try following hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972 Otherwise, you could contact the manufacturer to check the hardware.
