BitLocker overwrote my external partition!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello, I was trying to recover my D: drive which was labeled "DATA" and tried to back up the recovered files in my I: Drive [the external] using the following command: repair-bde D: I: -rp [plus my key] While it was 8% i decided to cancel it and do it later, but after i stopped the process, my external is in accessible from Windows 7. However, on Windows XP, I can access the external, but I only see few files which was recovered from my D: drive and everything else is gone [i.e my previous 1.5TB files]. I check the partition using a third party software and realized that only partition it shows up is from my 100GB D: drive partition...Anyone know how I can restore my hard drive to original state? Or is my 1.5tb worth of IMPORTANT files are F*&ked? Any help is much appreciated and thank you for any pointers. Masum

Hi, If you use this command, the output drive will be overwritten. I found more details information as below show: repair-bde <InputVolume> <OutputVolumeorImage> <OutputVolumeorImage> Identifies the drive on which to store the content of the repaired drive. All information on the output drive will be overwritten. For more information, please refers the this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff829851(v=ws.10).aspx.
