BitLocker encryption fails with 0x800703EE
Hello, all, Ten or so machines in my organization are failing to encrypt with BitLocker. The machines are all running Windows Vista Enterprise. Their TPMs are on, they have boot drives, and BitLocker recognizes the C: drive on all them as encryptable. But when I attempt to encrypt with 'manage-bde -on C: -RecoveryPassword', it fails with the following message: ERROR: There was an error while trying to protect the volume with a TPM. (code 0x800703EE) 0x800703EE is: "The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid." I am not sure how to resolve this. My only idea was to run 'chkdsk C: /f /r' to see if it would repair whatever invalid file it was referring to. But no errors were returned, and another attempt to encrypt with 'manage-bde' failed. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how I can resolve this issue. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks!
