BitLocker Command Line Error
I'm trying to script the enabling of BitLocker and am getting an error regardless of what I try. I'm using a stand alone Vista machine and am a member of the Administrators group. I've gone through the GUI and enabled BitLocker on my C drive, just so I can see how it all works to start. Using the command line tool, I execute the following command: cscript manage-bde.wsf -status After about 5 seconds I get this message: "ERROR: There was an error while connecting to the Volume Security object. Ensure you have adequate permissions." Any ideas? My goal is to script the enabling of BitLocker so that we can fold it into our deployment process. Thanks

So, I'm going to start over using real hardware and not VMWare. As for running the script, yes it was as an administrator.

BitLocker is not currently supported in Virtual environments (VMware or VirtualPC). It requires direct acceess to hardware.
