BirDefender 2009 64-bit
I was running BitDefender 2009 32-bit on Vista Ultimate 32-bitand did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit. The installation went well and the installation of BitDefender 64-bitworked up until it tried to do an update to get new virus signatures etc. I figured that maybe it just needed to reboot, but after doing several reboots and full power-downs it still isn't updating. Does anyone know what might be causing it? I am considering that it could be the way it connects to the update server, but I'm not sure.

Hello,BitDefender is not on the list of fully compatible Anti-Virus Solutions for Windows 7. That list can be found at the Microsoft Security Partners Page.So it could be incompatibility with the OS that is causing the updates not to work. Your best bet is to install one of the fully compatible solutions till other solutions become compatible. Which may not be till after Windows 7 gets released.Regards, ~Alex T.~ ~Windows Desktop Experience MVP~

I had issues with the update too. I contacted Bit Defender, and they have no plans to support this until the final version is relaeased. Here is the answer I got:Windows 7 is a beta system and BitDefender can be compatible only with finalversions of the operating system. Therefore, until a final version isreleased, you might encounter unexpected issues with different applications, including BitDefender.Future BitDefender products will be fully compatible with Windows 7 (the finalversion of the operating system).Best regards,Alexandru CompaneanuBitDefender Technical Support Engineer
