Best way to disable wireless interface in Windows 7 when LAN interface has link
I have a wireless LAN and a CAT 5e structured cable LAN. My issue is that my users are so fluid they want to have both the wireless and LAN on at the same time and it causes issues with DNS. What is the best way to disable the wireless when my LAN interface has link. I would like to do this automatically if possible. I only need this for my laptop users and we use the Dell Latitude. I do know that Dell has ControlPoint for XP and Vista but Microsoft also has the devcon.exe, what is best practice for my users which also needs to be easy to configure. All help welcome.

Hi, You may add a static IP route for the wired network connection. Please refer the following steps: 1. Click Start Menu, then open the Command Prompt. 2. Type the command “route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 <your gateway> metric NO.” to add a static IP route recorder. Please let the default route recorder’s metric of the wired network connection is lower than wireless connection. Also, the Dell wireless connection center maybe have the function, So you need to check it.
