Best Practice for Patching/Rebooting the Lync Edge Servers

Hi, Guys.

Good Day!

Need your inputs on this.

Could you please help me on how to reboot/patch the Lync Edge server? We only have 1 Lync Edge, and we are planning to patch/then reboot this for MS15-034 critical patch. What are the requirements prior to this patch and/or reboot? Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi, Guna.

Do I have to stop certain services before I reboot the Lync Edge server? Please advise.

Hi IrwinBats,

You can run Stop-CsWindowsService command to stop the Lync services if you want.

This does not matter really.

Best regards,

Eric

Hi Irwin

Agree with Eric. Dose not matter really as its a proper shutdown.
