Battery life on a new laptop is under 5 minutes; says it's fully charged
I bought a Clevo M72S/M721S Mini Laptop a year ago. When I bought it, it had around 10 minutes of battery life. Now, it lasts 5 minutes without the AC plugged in. When it is plugged, however, it says that the battery is being charged and is at 100%. I'm not sure if it's a dead battery, a battery life flaw in XP, a faulty connection, or something else. I have never used this thing solely on batteries, with the exception of battery life tests. Please help!1 person got this answerI do too

If when new it had 10mins of battery life, then thats next to useless and the PC could hardly be described as a portable thats fit for purpose. After 1yr the time avilable will be reduced.

Please help! The reviews for this mini aren't too plentiful, but I found a couple for the re-branded model, and the battery life when new was, on the average, about 75 to 90 minutes. Since you never had more than 10 minutes BL, and it seems to run fine on AC, my guess would be a bad battery from the beginning. Too bad it's probably out of warranty, although you might try contacting them anyhow to see if maybe there's a battery recall. You could try calibrating the battery. Read this article and see if you want to try it or not:http://www.rm.com/Support/TechnicalArticle.asp?cref=TEC49012And here's a procedure from HP, although it should work for any portable:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00035862SC Tom

Thanks, I think I got a bad battery to start with. I'll make sure I get a new one.
