Base Filtering Engine Service is not Running on your computer
I have had the most frustrating 4 days trying to solve this problem. The problem is not solved. PC worked good for 10 months then the wifi to my printer stopped working. Then the Fax stopped. At first I thought it was a printer problem, but with the help of itechline for 4 days, my problem did not get solved. Is there any one out there who may have encountered this same situation with Windows 7? How does this happen? Looked on the microsoft downloads and there's nothing there except to go to the forum. What's the best course of action? Thank you.

Hi, Before I trouble shooting with your issues, I would like to ask you some questions. What printer brand and mode do you use? Does your Wifi can connect to internet? Do you try to update your printer driver to the latest? Do you try to use other computer to connect to your printer for check?

Check if the Service is listed by typing services.msc in the start menu search - if it is listed then try to start it and note the error (if any) that you get. Also check the start-up type is set to Automatic. Then follow this guide - although it's for Windows Server 2008 R2 - I have used it to fix the issue on Win 7 x64 also: Base Filtering Engine Service is not Running
