Baffling Administration Hysteria
I just got a new external had drive enclosure and installed my old hard drive from my retired computer. I was told that I could easily access my files from the old hard drive and just load what I wanted onto my new computer with Windows 7. The good news is that I have all the files on the old hard drive. The bad news is that windows 7 won't let me access any of them. I've gone through the process of granting myself permission to access individual folders (which is a huge pain as there are hundreds of folders and thousands of files), but 7 won't let me open the actual file, stating that I need to get permission from myself. How can I give myself permission to open a file when it doesn't give me the option, and how can I turn off the adminstrator settings so that I don't have to ask permission to open each one of the hundreds of folders from my old hard drive?
