Hi, Do you mean that the DHCP server get an invalid IP Address after the Windows 7 connects to the network? Please boot this computer to Safe Mode with networking and see how it works. If the issue doesn’t occur, please try the following to eliminate the conflicts: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

On the DHCP Server, in the Address Leases, bad address start showing up on address that other XP Computer have leased. This causes the XP computer to inform the user that it (the XP Computer) has a address conflict. This all start when I try to have the Windows 7 computer get it's Ip address from the DCHP server.

On the DCHP server, in the Address Leases, I get Bad address showing up in the Name field on the address leases when I configure the windows 7 computer to get it IP address from the DCHP server. The Bad address slams over the name of the XP computers that have the address leased. This causes an IP conflict statement to the user of the XP computer No the Machine is not infected. This is a new machine clean from Dell. I will be trying it this Friday (Good Friday) no one will be on the network. and I will get some info from the event log, i hope.

Hi - I have the same issue. Did you ever find a solution? We also have run into the same issue, Looking for a solution. Windows 2003 AD Server with DHCP. We connect windows 7 Professional Machines to the network and DHCP fills up with Bad Addresses. So far 3 different windows 7 Professional PC's have done this. All are Brand new HP Desktops. We have 2 Windows 7 Ultimate on new HP Desktops with no problems as well as some laptops with windows 7 pro without any incident. So far we have tried a secondary Nic in the machines, same result a few days later. We have reformatted the machines, same result a few days later.
