Backup greyed out. Can't run windows backup
Hi: Windows backup was running fine. On schedule. I am not sure, that issue was caused after install of SP1 Problem: Windows backup after clicking on CPL is grayed out and won't work. Ran SFC, no joy. Also indexing is turned off and can't turn it on. Whats weird is I have a cpl called "God Mode" that opens up the task scheduler. Under Windows/Backup its says backup is ruining and backed up last night. Yet I cannot manually do a backup as I did before. SORRY MORE ISSUES Furthermore There is inly one administrator - me. But when I try to change setting, I am told I don't have administrative rights. I hesitate to create a new account :ADMINISTRATOR" as it seems to screw everything up unless my profile is corrupted and somehow I can copy my settings to the new account. That's a mouthful. Yes I know there are too many questions. But I am really frustrated. BTW UAC is OFF! Please help. NB WINDOWS ULTIMATE 64 SP1 IE8, 8 Gig Ram, Drive C is SD.Thank you for helping!

Windows backup is crap, I use the free 7-zip archive tool. Works for me. Does take a moment to plan backups though. Another idea is cloning, see my IT site papers for help. Hi, Since the issue is occurred after installing SP1, the fastest method is to perform a System Restore. If the issue is resolved after system restore, I suggest upgrading to SP1 again. If the issue persists, I think the in-place upgrade is the efficient method. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099 http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
