Our client has several Windows 7 professional laptops that are disconnected frequently from the network. The file server is 2008 R2, domain controller is Server 2003. The laptops have their Documents redirected to a folder on the file server using the
Offline Files feature. The backup software being used to back up the file server is SyncBack. It was discovered when examining the backup logs this week that several (possibly all) of the offline files are not being backed up. The particular error message
being received is: "P:\%username% [location of the user's home folder] refers to a location that is unavailable." I was just made aware of this yesterday afternoon and am looking for a direction to head in. I may be looking into enabling opportunistic locking
and/or disabling SMB v2 on the server. Not sure if I'm in the ballpark with that or not as I've not experienced this issue before.
