Backup error 0xC0003005
Hi there I've been trying to delete an image of C drive made via backup that is stored on my local network drive. I've told Backup not to make any more images, and then going via 'Manage Space', then 'System Image-Change Settings' I have been checking the radio box to 'Delete all images for this computer', and saying yes when asked if i really want to do this. I then get an error box with a red checkmark and the only writing within is an error code (0xC0003005). Checking other posts this error is not seen very often but might be associated with disk full errors or something like that... although that doesn't make sense in this case! Trying to just delete the file from the network drive gives me an error saying i need permission from Unix User/root in order to delete (the file is on a Netgear ReadyNas box attached to the network). Any ideas? Am trying to free up some space on the network box and loathe to delete everything off there just to get rid of an accidentally created system image. Cheers Lachlan

Hi Lachlan, I suggest you check the Windows Backup Log (C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup), see if there's any clue. You can also upload it to your SkyDrive, I'll check it later. Have uploaded to my skydrive, hope you can make more sense of them than I can - not an easily readable 'log' file from what I can see. Have included the latest two (by dates) WindowsBackup.etl files and the SystemImage.etl file (only one of these present). Thanks for your help, hope you can shed some light Cheers Lachlan

Hi Lachlan, Please give us the folder link of that log file. Then I can find it. The followup to this story is that there does not seem to be an easy answer to what is/was causing this error message, but I managed to find out how to get root access to the network drive, and delete it that way. A bit messy, but effective. Thanks for looking into this Miya, I'd be keen to know anybody does eventually find an answer to what the problem was. Cheers Lachlan
