Hey guys, Been searching for hours and have found the big thread on this utility that addresses. I found some helpful info in it like what triggers a full automatic backup. Little pieces of info like that in the help file would be very nice. Anyway I have the 16385 RTM and am looking for a way to manually control the backup utility. In that thread there was a post by a moderator that listed registry value adjustments for the automatic full backups which was exactly what I was looking for. However when I got there, these entries did not exist in my registry. I pasted the post below. So was I supposed to add these entries or were they for the RC1 release? The post is dated after 7's release and I can't imagine the need for this kind of help on the RC1 at that time.The reason I'm asking is I am a power user/developer and end up restoring my system partition every once in awhile to a state before the 'first full backup' was performed. When I do this it negates the incremental. Hi TedThe thread you are referring to, Windows7 Backup not doing incremental was a discussion about Windows 7 RTM. Most of the ITPros and Developers received the RTM on August 6 from their Technet/MSDN Subscriptions.That thread discusses non-default and customized registry entries that are meant for ITPros and Developers, and not recommended for a typical end user. You just need to exclude the system image backup in Windows Backup. Please refer the screenshots in the following thread. Win7 System Image - All Logical Drives Are Selected You just need to uncheck image backup for all drives and also uncheck “Include a system image of drives…”.Arthur Xie - MSFT
