Backup MS SQL database files with Windows 7 Backup and Restore Center?
I investigate backup-software for our SQL Server 2005 databases.I stated that via ntbackup.exe (XP, Server 2003)a communication with VSS Writerand SQL Server occurs (SQL Server Profiler): BACKUP DATABASE [XYZ] TO VIRTUAL_DEVICE = '(CB4BEDD8-11F0-46FF-B83E-79F57666004C) 1' WITH SNAPSHOT,BUFFERCOUNT=1,BLOCKSIZE=1024 In Windows 7 backup center, this is not the case. VSS is used - but there is no communication with SQL Server (via SQL Writer). Is the consistency of the databases assured?

reinoldino, Sorry to give you the run-around, but this question would be better supported over at the MSDN forums , where Windows 7 is supported.-Alex
