Backing Up Remote SharePoint Folders with Windows 7
I have SharePoint 2008 running a Windows 2008 Server at my business office. I work from my home office where I have my Windows 7 Ultimate machine, and I have the SharedFolders for each of my SharePoint sites mounted as Windows Explorer Shared Network Folders
so that I can easily access, move, and backup the *FILES* I have on SharePoint, from my Windows 7 Ultimate homes office machine.
I want to be able to AUTOMATE/schedule backups of my SharePoint folders/files (running on Windows Server 2008) using Backup and Restore on my home office Windows 7 Ultimate machine - giving me offsite backup/storage of critical files.
It makes NO SENSE to me that I CAN copy the files manually to my home office NAS (which I do), but I cant seem to automate the process using Windows 7 Ultimate Backup and Restore.
It keeps saying that I cant do that ... What am I doing wrong, or what is an alternative way for me to "get there from here?"
Any help would be much appreciated!

Just so we're clear here. You want the Server 2008 backup & restore service to backup your sharepoint data across the WAN to your windows 7 home office system on a automated schedule, correct?
What kind of error are you getting? Anything specific in either the source or destination in the Event viewer application logs related to why the backup service isn't allowing this to occur. I could be wrong, but I recall that with server 2008, local backups
to DVD's, CD's, local drives, & locally attached storage (NAS/SAN), as well as networked shares.
