BUG Dim the display not working on second monitor
My portable after two minutes, triggers the "Dim the display" option and the brightness is reduced. But this does not work on my second monitor. It's an unmet expectation or just something they forgot? Thanks Adelino Araujo

Stand-alone monitors have no standard interface for dimming. Otherwise, desktop computers could also dim monitors after a bit of time, but they can't.

Thanks. Since I can adjust the brightness on my nvidia panel, I thought Windows could that too. Maybe some day! :) Adelino Araujo

I'm going to play the devil's advocate here... It's been a while since I've messed with Ubuntu as I've been busy testing Windows 7 for an eventual transfer of my school machine (an HP tablet) to 7 from XP Tablet. Additionally, my campus network is not very friendly when it comes to students using Linux, and I've yet to find a note-taking software for linux that is remotely as good as OneNote. That being said, I'm reasonably sure that Ubuntu can (and does) dim the secondary display at the same time as the primary laptop display. Why can't Windows? This isn't a serious bug... but it is a glaring glitch in what is a vastly redesigned and updated UI.
