BSOD system_thread_exception_not_handle d wdf01000.sys HELP!

As I was using my computer last night, I received a BSOD: "Something went wrong. Error message SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED wdf01000.sys" I've tried everything and nothing works. The laptop that crashed is an HP Pavilion G6 that runs Windows 8.

I can't access my desktop and neither account will load up, although it allows me to log into them before the screen goes blank.

Why is this happening to me, and how can I fix it?

Does it also happen in safe mode? if it doesn't, please refer to the link below, for steps to retrieve, zip and upload them to the file sharing site like onedrive, google's "dropbox, etc, and place a link to the file/s in the body of your next post.

I'm trying to boot up in safe mode now, although I'm not sure if it will work. I know that you start it up when the operating system is booting up, but when Automatic Repair ran it said that something is wrong with my OS. Not sure if it'll let me use safe mode. Is there a way to tell whether you're in safe mode or not?

For some reason I could only find one DMP that was for this crash, but I'll send it. Said it was 0kb, so I'm not sure whether it will work or not.

Hope you can figure out what went wrong.

Sorry about the delay, it has been quite a busy day.. The dump file is no good if it says 0kb. Did you try "Last known good configuration" option in safe mode. You should try that, and see if the system will boot normally

I'm... not sure how to set that up. Could you help out?

Also, I'm fine with the delay.

Hello nitrodog96,

Do you mean that the screen goes blank after you log in the account?
Do you use Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?

As you can normally boot in the safe mode, this issue may be related to the driver or third-party software.

Please use the system restore to restore Windows back to an earlier point.

I meant that, yes.

I use Windows 8.

I've booted up in Safe Mode already.

System Restore didn't work.

Please upload a copy of your system information file. Click "start" , type "msinfo32" , Click "file" at the top of the page, select "export" and give the file a name and click "save" .

Navigate to where the file was saved to, and upload the generated text file to a public folder on your OneDrive account and post the link here.

I don't have OneDrive, but I've uploaded it to my Dropbox.

Hello nitrodog96,

Do you mean that you dont have the dump file?
If yes, it is hard to diagnose the root cause.

Please try to upload to driver from the manufacturer website.
And try to perform a clean boot to check if the issue still exists.

Ehh, the problem seems to have been fixed. Had to not install one Windows update, it works fine now.
