BSOD resuming from sleep
Running build 7100 x64. When resuming from sleep, I get the blue screen of death. Event Viewer shows the following errors: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000027 (0x00000000baad0073, 0xfffff880028119c8, 0xfffff88002811220, 0xfffff88003ef7993). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 050309-37689-01. I had a similar problem a few days ago when I installed 7100x64 with SATA enabled in my BIOS (three SATA drives, not using RAID); I got a couple of crashes when resuming from sleep (S3). The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007a (0xfffff6fc50033d68, 0xffffffffc000009d, 0x000000002b0fe880,0xfffff8a0067ad7b8). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: . I then disabled SATA and have not subsequently seen the problem. Sleep (with hybrid) is still enabled (and used frequently). Hi Gary,Thanks for your suggestion. The only option available to me was to disable the sata II controller in the bios, which I did. I then tested the sleep functionality and it was working as normal. I re-enabled the sata II controller and then tested the sleep functionality again and it was still working as normal. I am still getting the "The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition. Please check for updated firmware for your system" error in Event Viewer. I guess I'll have to monitor it and see. Maybe it's just one of those quirks that appears from time to time.Cheers,Hamid

Hamid, were you getting that error in the Event Viewer even when you had SATA disabled?

Yes, but I didn't have SATA completely disabled, as I was unable to boot the pc with it disabled. I did however disable the sata II controller and I did get the message once, however, I've enabled the sata II controller and put the pc into sleep mode several times and it has not re-appeared as yet. My motherboard has 2 sata controllers, one is NVIDIA nforce and the other (the sata II controller) is a Silicon Image SIL3132.

Interesting, I've also had a BSOD which happened when in sleep mode, with a similar message: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007a (0xc024a790, 0xc000000e, 0x75f75860, 0x929e4d7a). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id:7100x32 is installed on my Dell Dimension 8400, currently running in SATA mode with two drives installed (non-RAID). It seems as though when the PC goes into sleep mode, the D: drive disappears (gets dismounted?) and I need to reboot to get it back. I'm still trying to find out the cause of that...Thanks,Geoff Coupe

I'm also having the same problem. Some people seem to have resolved it by installing vista drivers for the chipset and sata controller but in my case it only reduced the likelihood of a crash. I'm now also getting a different error 0x9088.

Trying all kinds of sugestions I finaly managed to solve the problem byuninstalling the ATI catalyst 9.4 drivers for my radeon 3850 and using the default ones. Seems a bit far fetched considering the error but it works.

The only solution I think will help is not putting it in sleep... Whenever I put my HP Pavilion in Sleep/hibernate, the speakers get messed up :(

Kris No. I installed the Windows 7 catalyst driver package as is using the command line installer since the I've never managed to get the normal Catalyst installer to work. I've always had problems with the Catalyst installer so I'm used to having to use the command line installer. I've reinstalled all other applications I removed during the debugging and the system still works fine returning from sleep, without the ATI drivers.

Well, at least you seem to have a solution for now... Maybe, in time, a newer release of that driver will work correctly for you.Kris

Actually, I thought the only chipset drivers available (6.x) WERE Vista drivers. I get mine from the mobo mfgr and install with vista Compat. Yeah, it also loads the SMB drivers.Hope that helps! - - - Kris
