BSOD Windows 7
Hi I have recently (within last month) purchased a new Athlon II x3 435 based PC. 3 GB RAM. W7 Home Premium x64 pre-installed. Since purchase there have been 3 BSODs. Apart from that the machine runs well. BIOS is Megatrends 515, 06/11/2009 There are three logs in Minidump and I wondered if I could upload them to you for analysis please? If the hardware is faulty, I could do with some evidence when I return the machine to the store! The last BSOD coincided with a docx file which was being saved to the Pc from another machine on the network, becoming corrupted. Presumably the crash caused the corruption, rather than the save causing the crash. Normally there aren't any problems with the network. Really appreciate your help with this one! Many thanks Steve

Hi Steve,The BOSD issue can be caused by many different factors, such as the drivers are not compatible with win7, incorrect BIOS settings, faulty memory, or there are virus or Trojan, and so on. It’s better to upload your Minidump log to your public folder in the SkyDrive for analyzing. Please don't contain any personal information in it. How to collect the dump file============================1. Click "Start", in start search bar, input "SYSDM.CPL" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.2. Clear the “Automatically Restart” option.3. Click the "Advanced" tab and click the "Settings" button under "Startup and Recovery". option.4. Under "Write debugging information" section, make sure the "Small Memory Dump (64KB)" option is selected. If the Blue Screen appears again, please refer to the following steps to collect memory dump files: 1. Please click Start, in start search bar type "%SystemRoot%\Minidump" (without quotation marks).2. Go to your Desktop, right-click on it and create a new folder named "Dump".3. Copy all the memory dump files (looks like Mini092003-01.dmp) in Minidump to this folder. 4. Right-click on the Dump folder, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". At the same time, you can try the following suggestions to troubleshoot your issue. 1. Update the BIOS and drivers for your machine, you can get them from the manufacture. 2. Test your machine in the safe mode, if it works fine in the safe mode, please test in Clean Boot mode . I hope this can help you. John

Hello, I have a friend with a Dell Vostros 1720 laptop running 32bit Windows 7 home. He is consistently getting BSOD's.
