Hi, I think it might be a virus. Restart computer and go to safe mode with networking. Download latest updates for your Antivirus Softwareand then run a virus check. Slan go foill, Paul

I cannot even get to safe mode. It just jumps back to blue screen when I select safe mode, last know good config, etc. I have tried all the options available. What do you recommend?By the way, I recently installed McAfee, a legit copy provided by my company. I am pretty sure this is causing Vista to halt. I have also tried reseating the rams, but it didn't help.

Hi Pleasehelpmylaptop,If your laptops harddisk is Satadrive, take it out and bring to a friends computer with Sata connections on motherboard.Scan for Virus and Spyware. You will also be able to save some data off harddisk to backup device. Just in case you have no choice but to reinstall Windows. If you can not do the above go to Hirems Bootcd which includes repair tools andbackup software. Download and Burn to cd.Restartcomputer and boot to it.http://www.hirensbootcd.net/Slan go foill, Paul
