BSOD IRQL_Not_less_or_Equal
Hello, I am having some issues with my Vista ultimate. I have had a blue screen with 2 different messages. I have fixed one(had to do with atikmag.sys file) which was my video. I cleared that up but now i get the IRQL_Not_less_or_Equal Blue screen. The strange thing is i get the BSOD only when trying to access it from another computer on the network. Anytime i go to "Network" and open up the shares on my desktop it blue screens. However I can open up "Network" on my desktop and browse the shares on my laptop which is running vista business. Any ideas on fixing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob

IRQ BSOD like that are typicall resource issues. Is this a built in NIC on the motherboard? Is this a desktop? Give us more information, plus this isn't the forum for this, this is networking issues and not system setup and configurations.

DACTech, The reason I put it into this forum is becuase i only got the BSOD when accessing My desktop from another machine via the "Network". Now looking back i should have put it in the system setup, i am sorry for that. As for details here they are. Desktop 1gb ddr 2.16 xp athalon 256 ati Radeon x1550 (AGP) Hauppage 150 mce tuner (PCI) Soyo dragon 2 v 2.0 MOBO, VIA chipset. Built in Network adapter - VIA Velocity Family Gigabit LAN 4 ide hdd's using ALI Raid drivers (might be the issue) Windows Vista Ultimate I checked my IRq's and my firewire and tuner card shared the same so i temp disabled my firewire but still have the blue screen. I have installed latest network adapter from VIA Arena, disconnected my USB HUB(had memory card reader and blue tooth dongle). I originally thought it was networking issues but it did it to me again in Media Center accessing my Video Library. I am starting to believe its the ALI Raid driver since i had to rig the driver install to be a.ble to see my other 2 hard drives. There is no current vista ALI Raid drivers, only xp so i had to strip the exe file and force the driver install and now i can see my other 2 HDDs Thanks for the response, Any ideas would be great I really would love to keep my system the way it is minus the BSOD.

I am experiencing very similar problems to yours. I also have a VIA velocity gigabit Ethernet adapter integrated on my motherboard. I think it is the network adapter because I only get a BSOD when accessing this computer from another computer through the network, or when printing to my network printer. Another thing I noticed is that the latest drivers released by VIA are dated December 2006 .

I am also experiencing the same thing as Khufu_I. I also have a VIA and the same thing happens when I try to print to my network printer attached to this computer or when accessing this box remotely.

I'm seeing the same thing but I have NVIDIA. If I access the Vista x64box from the network it will bluescreen the Vista box, but only sometimes. Most of the time it's fine.

Just to keep you all updated, I was receiving this error everytime that I accessed the box over the network in my house and when trying to print to the network printer attached to this box. It had an integrated VIA Ethernet Adapter. I disabled this ethernet adapter and added a Linksys Network Card and downloaded the updated drivers and all is well now.
