BLUE SCREEN during Shutdown
I just had a BLUE SCREEN during Shutdown. First Shutdownremained several minutes on the "System is shutting down" screen. Then the screen went black and finally a BLUE SCREEN appeared:DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE*** STOP: 0x0000009FFresh installation of W7 64-bit on a (bootcamped) Macbook Pro with current NVidia and Broadcom drivers. One possible culprit might be some incompletely installed drivers for an RME Fireface 400 (drivers cannot be successfuly installed on W7). But since these are not activated (due to incomplete installation) I wouldn't expect them to cause a blue screen.

Does it happen everytime that you shutdown Windows 7 or did it happen just that one time?

As far as I remember it happened twice, once with W7 64-bit and earlier with W7 32-bit. There might be some connection and I'm trying to reproduce it now by uninstalling/reinstalling that broken driver.

If you are getting a BSOD, one thing that you can do is use the Debug Diag Tool to obtain the information from your memory dump file. Once you have used this tool on the Mini Dump, locate the stack and verify which process is causing the BSOD. I have used this software several time to resolve my BSOD errors. if you run into any additional questions or concerns, simply leave a message on here with some detailed information and I will follow up with you shortly.Thank you,Aaron Griffin

Check your RAM and power supply. Have you installed additional RAM or other hardware? What type of GPU do you have? Graphic drivers may be a possibility. You may also have a BIOS problem if you changed voltage and other settings for the CPU and RAM.

Hi! A similar thing happened to me, but the blue screen only happened once on shut down 2 days ago. Now I don't see the blue screen anymore but I keep getting messages about "Toshiba service station has stopped working". I have a Toshiba Satellite L510 on Windows 7 Home Premium. I didnt get to write what was on the blue screen when it happened, but I got some details from the reliability monitor: Windows stopped working The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. I just had a BLUE SCREEN during Shutdown. First Shutdown remained several minutes on the "System is shutting down" screen. Then the screen went black and finally a BLUE SCREEN appeared: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE *** STOP: 0x0000009F Fresh installation of W7 64-bit on a (bootcamped) Macbook Pro with current NVidia and Broadcom drivers. One possible culprit might be some incompletely installed drivers for an RME Fireface 400 (drivers cannot be successfuly installed on W7). But since these are not activated (due to incomplete installation) I wouldn't expect them to cause a blue screen. I would have this problem from time to time in Vista Ultimate. I found in Device Manager that my default printer has an yollow ! mark and this would cause the BSOD. Un-installing and re-installing the printer driver corrected the problem. I have not had this problem after ungrading ti Windows 7 Pro---knock on wood. Thanks Bob Eyster Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit
