BIOS options greyed out or disabled

Actually i want to install windows 8.1 in my pc through usb n hence i need to set boot preference to usb but whenever i enter into bios,all the options/settings r greyed out/disabled n i cannot enetr into any of the settings n even when i exit the bios,only the exit without saving option pops up... i think it is all disabled by the manufacturer so any of u know how can i enable it?

Actually its an assembled pc,Intel DG31PR mobo

Windows 7 (32 bit) ultimate

Samsung moniter

2 gb ddr2 ram

Intel core 2 duo E7400 @ 2.8 ghz

Could there be a BIOS password enabled?  Check with Intel on clearing it (there is usually a jumper on the mobo to change).  Intel can also help you with accessing the boot options

i just put a superviser password sometime ago....other then that i cant get what ur saying?

On that board, if you set a supervisor password but not a user password, when you enter the BIOS, all options will be disabled.
