BIOS mode required to recognize serial key embedded into it

Hi Guys,

I have changed my HD on my Dell laptop and now I'm trying to install Windows 8 from the scratch but the installation keeps asking the serial key. My laptop has the Windows 8 purple stamp (home) below it indicating it has the serial key into the BIOS, I've tried few different installation medias including downloaded from MSDN and OEM from Dell (I got it from another laptop in my company) but no success, it stops at the stage where I need to type the serial key.

My question is if the BIOS needs to be configured to AHCI or another type and what can I do to have my serial key recognized in the installation process?

You can find the serial number with this tool but you will still need to find the right media to install with it.  BTW you should not need the key as the installation media should find it

I could get the key with this software Wanikiya and Dyami, but I still needed to use the correct version of Windows, in this case was the Single Language, using the right media it haven't asked for the serial.

Thanks,
