BHOLD: Attribute Based Authorization(ABA) Rule

Hi,

I have installed BHOLD Version 5.0.1992.00

I am trying to Create an ABA Rule say (Job_Title="Secretary") and linked it to a role and loaded the data.

I could see all the data loaded and I could see the Policy Created based on the ABA rule set for the Particular Role.

But I could not see the Rule impact(Only the Data is loaded but there is no effect on the ABA Rule set in the System).

I am seeing Error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" When i click on Impact in Home/Update Policy.

Please help.

Thanks,

Not sure about the error message when clicking the 'impact' button but does the policy show that it is applied or that there is conflict?

Hi,

The Policy is visible in BHOLD say I have tagged "Test_role" to Rule [Job_Title="Secretary"] which is seen in BHOLD.

But the Rule impact is not seen (i.e.)The users with the job_title "Secretary" are not given the role "Test_role". --- Which means the Rule has not taken effect.

Expected Behaviour : When I load the "Test_role" with ABA condition [Job_Title="Secretary"] , All the users in BHOLD who satisfy the condition [Job_Title="Secretary"] should be given the role "Test_role"

Thanks,

Vinodhini

Not sure if I understood it correctly. But a ABA Role needs to be assigned to an OU in order to get assigned to users based upon the Policy. Having a Role without linking it to a certain OU, is pointless... Role will never be assign to users whether or not the policy agrees with the user-attributes (jobtitle=xxx).

That error message seems to be a bug...

That's a bug AFAIK - I've seen the same thing and I'm sure the Product guys confirmed it as an issue.

I am having the same problem while creating ABA authorization rules for Roles.

I have assigned the Role to an OU and created the authorization rule but on clicking apply, it gives error"Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

If it is a bug , is there any patch released wrt it.

The 'show impact' button not showing the actual impact and generating an error........this is a known issue and is currently being investigated.

I would have to understand more details about this, perhaps. The error for 'show impact' button is known. However, otherwise, ABA-policies seem to work as designed from what I have seen. If they are not working, you might want to open case with FIM/BHOLD support team for further investigation.
