Automated MSI creator software?
Does anyone know of software that creates an installer by doing before/after snapshots of an installation, then creating an installer of the differences? In case I'm not clear, the software does a scan of the filesystem and registry, to get a baseline. Then you run the installer for the desired software. Then you run another scan, and the program creates an installer of any changes to the filesystem and registry. I remember using something from Altiris years ago that would do this. I think it was called RIP, for Rapid Install Package. It would show you the differences and give you the option to clean up any changes that were not to be included in the installer package.
