Autolog in on google mail (gmail)
Hi all, Just got a new pc here, running windows 7 and ie9. Every time we log in to googlemail (gmail) we are automatically logged in to one specific account. As this pc is used by multiple users this is not an ideal situation. We have checked the "remember me" buttons and all are unchecked (don't auto login). When logging out of the account you are automatically logged back in to it, with about a 1 second delay. While opening the googlemail (gmail) on other machines running different windows and Ie we have no problems with logging in and out of any account. Also by using Firefox as a browser this solves the problem. Anyone got information on how we can stop this happening on this machine. Regards Tony

Milos, Thanks for the reply but I have already done both of these, did it again to make sure, but still logging in automatically. Disabling automatic sign-in If you're being automatically signed in to your Google Account, you may have enabled either a password-storing feature in your browser, or the Google Accounts option to "Stay signed in." Click the links below for instructions on how to disable both features. Firefox Microsoft Internet Explorer If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer, it's possible that you've enabled the AutoComplete feature. If you don't want AutoComplete to automatically sign you in to your Google Account, please follow these steps: Click the Tools menu at the top of your browser, and select Internet Options.Click the Content tab at the top of the dialogue box.Click the AutoComplete... button, and diselect the checkboxes "Usernames and passwords on forms" and "Prompt me to save passwords."Click OK. Google Accounts First check if the Google Accounts "Stay signed in" option is actually enabled. Visit the Google Accounts homepage and verify if the checkbox above the Sign In button is selected. If it's selected, delete your browser's cookies. If you're using Mozilla Firefox version 1.5 or later: Go to the Tools menu.Select Options.Select the Privacy icon.Click the Cookies tab and the Clear Cookies Now button. Click OK to exit. Each time you sign in to your Google Account, make sure the "Stay signed in" option isn't selected. If the problem persists, you may want to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Please note that while deleting your cookies may resolve the problem, it will also remove your saved settings for sites you've previously visited. And when we open up in Firefox there is no problem. Any other ideas please. Regards Tony

Hello Tony 1. I have not ment written help only. Community forum would be better. Also there is more specialized forum aiming at Internet Explorer here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/ieitprocurrentver/threads 2. The difference between working and not working configuration depends on where are the browser settings saved (in particular user assigned folder or common one). 3. I would suggest another mail client that can fetch and send e-mails (Outlook or Thunderbird to name two). Regards Milos
