Auto switch default playback device? Wireless Speaker Adapter for bluetooth
I have a logitech bluetooth adapter which uses A2DP bluetooth profile to play audio wirelesly from win7 to our home teater. My bluetooth hardware is intel centrino bluetooth 3.0 on win7 x64. When I first paired the device with my win7 and then connected to the Bluetooth adapter, windows automatically changed the default playback device to Bluetooth Audio (adapter). However, After few times connecting and disconnecting, things have changed. Now connecting to Bluetooth adapter does not change the default playback device to Bluetooth adapter which means I have to first go to device manager, open "Bluetooth operation", connect to logitech Bluetooth, then two extra steps: right click on speaker icon in the taskbar, choose playback, choose Bluetooth adapter and set it as default! It is just irritating to do that each time I want to connect to the adapter and I can't figure why it did it automatically at first and now it doesn't change it anymore. Steps I took: I reinstalled Intel Bluetooth software. I removed Bluetooth adapter and added it again. Other important info: When I added the adapter, it installed "Advanced Audio distribution Profile (Sink)". However, whenever I connect to the adapter from devices and printers, I see driver installation in the taskbar which installs "Bluetooth Audio" driver. That means, when I disconect the adapter, I can't see the bluetooth audio under playback devices (show disconected and disabled devices are checked). Anyone knows how to make win7 to switch the default playback device to the adapter automatically, whenever I connect it through bluetooth? any help appreciated

I already did that. Connect then set the bluetooth audio to default. however after reconnecting, it stays on built-in speaker until I change it again...

And who chose your reply as an "answer"!!! I sure didn't do it and your "it seams your rig run different from my HP netbook" isn't really a helpful answer :) Strange how people promote each other ;) Anyway, As I wrote before, it was nice and shiny when I first connected it. I clicked connect and it set the BT audio to default automatically. I don't know what exactly happened, may be I forgot to disconnect it once before I restarted my laptop. since then, I have to connect first, then open my sound manager and set BT audio to default manually :(( It is really irritating and no one seems to experienced this issue so far! I googled for half an hour!

I have the same problem and I think its caused by the Intel bluetooth driver, installing a new audio device for the bluetooh speaker, every time its connected. You can set the audio device as default, but when its reconnected, its a new device and the default is lost. The bluetooth driver should recognice the bluetooth device and reactivate it, not reinstalling it. Intel should fix this. Please respond if you ever find a solution
