HiWhat Windows 2007 is?You do not have Exchange mail Server, Ok.However, what do you have? You try everything, but we really do not know anything about what you tried.-------------------As a long shoot in case you meant Outlook 2007.http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips/qt/et_auto_reply.htm Jack-MVP Windows Networking. HI Jack,Thank you for your response. Sorry, I was a bit frustrated when I wrote my question. Yes, I have Outlook 2007. I have Windows Vista. And you are correct, I do not have Exchange Server. I am a small, one person business that does not need Exchange Server and it is way to costly just to get an auto reply out every blue moon. :-) I have to use something similar to Outlook for my messages because I have an internet site that routes messages from our site to my Outlook (excuse that I am not very computer savy and do not always know the correct terms). Our internet site server dudes promise me this is not a problem at their end but an issue with Outlook. And, from what I've read online, I believe them. The Auto Reply has to be set up by making a new rule as your link suggests. I have tried this numerous times over the past year (whenever I need to set up an auto reply). I've read several blogs on how people have tried different ways of setting up the rule but it is all basically the same method. After I set up the new rule on my computer I then go to another computer and send a message to myself. I always get a rules error on my computer that says the rule cannot reply to the message. And, the rule automatically turns itself off (the box becomes unchecked under "rules" tab.I've tried to send messages from several different types of accounts (i.e. yahoo, comcast, corecommerce) and I continue to get the error message. I contacted Microsoft at one point and after about an hour and a half on the phone the customer service rep said I would have to uninstall their virus software to make the action work. As you can imagine, uninstalling virus software does not sound appealing to me. :-)Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, even if the suggestion is a different source than OutLook 2007.

HiWhat exactly you have in term of Anti Virus? If it is a 3rd party AntiVirus, uninstall it and use Microsoft Security Essentials.http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/Also try to post in the outlook Forum, http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlookacct/threads Jack-MVP Windows Networking.
