Auto Arrange Off
As there is no way to turn auto arrange off I am returning to XP. I spend much of my time each day preparing disks for distribution each one must have certain files or folders included. For this reason I have my icons arranged in groups to facilitate easy selection of files to burn. Without this feature an OS is useless to me. I am going back to XP after having a horrible experience with Vista also.

You give up so easy ;-) sure, there's an easy way to turn off Auto Arrange, after all, you turned it on. Anywhere on your desktop, where there's nothing occupying where you right click on the screen, select view, uncheck Auto Arrange MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Hi, Do you mean that the Auto-arrange cannot be disabled in folders? Windows 7 will auto arrange files and folders when they are created. If you would like to manually organize them, a third party program may be needed. According to the search result, the following software mybe work. If you uncheck the option "Resort list immediately after rename" it will not happen. http://www.xyplorer.com/ Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. I will forward your feedback to the appropriate department through our internal channel. Both the Microsoft Product Team and Development Team take into consideration all suggestions and feedback for future releases.Thankyou.Vivian Xing - MSFT

This feature is horrible. I'd love MS to fix this properly so I can turn auto-arrange off!
