Auditing Windows 7 Bitlocker Deployment with SCCM
HI, I've seen a few blogs on how to track bitlocker deployments with SCCM and they seem to refer to the Win32_EncryptableVolume class. I'm not seeing that class on a Windows 7 Enterprise computer and yet if I run 'manage-bde.exe -status C:', I am seeing response that the drive is encrypted. Have things changed with Windows 7 and should I be looking at a different class in WMI to gather this information with SCCM? Thank you, Karen

Karen, Are you looking in the right namespace? By default the the most WMI programs look in the \\ROOT\CIMV2 namespace. But the Class Win32_encryptableVolume is in the \\.\root\CIMV2\Security\MicrosoftVolumeEncryption name space. You find more info about the this class on the msdn site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa376483(v=VS.85).aspx Kind Regards DFTIM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER

Thank you! Yes - you were right. I was looking at \\root\cimv2 instead of the \\root\cimv2\security\microsoftvolumeencryption. Thanks for your help, Karen
