Attempting to wirelessly network a laptop through a desktop. Desktop uses a USB connect device to get internet access.
I would like to wirelessly access the internet on a laptop (running XP; Atheros 802.11b/g) through a desktop (Win64) that I currently connect to the internet using a USB broadband connect device (AT&T Mercury USB). How do I build a local network from the desktop that I'll be able to connect to elsewhere in the house with the laptop? Are there restrictions/limitations when using this type of internet connectivity vs a wired version? (Because of where we live there's no DSL or cable availability, just wireless.)

Hi Mseibolt, Thanks for posting. From your post it looks like you are trying to wirelessly send a signal from your Desktop to your Laptop using a wireless signal. The issue here is I cannot see where you have any wireless signal broadcasting from your desktop. If this is the case, then the current senerio it would not be possible to set up ICS and have it function to your laptop. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
