Attaching a router to a router
I'm setting up another network to share a DSL modem connection to the web. I ive connected a wireless router directly to the DSL modem. I have a primary switch and a secondary switch each connected to a port at the router. I've secured the workstations attached to that secondary switch by manually assigning IP addresses to each of them. I want to secure it better by attempting to attach that switch to a second router instead that will be attached to the then primary wireless router. First of all, I would like to get some advice or comments on this plan. Since I've already configured and set up the primary router to the modem. How do I configure that second router, Do I just assign it an IP address to begin with? Thanks for your support and advise.

Hi, Thank you for the post. Are you going to attach the second Router to the primary Router? If so, there are two Routers (at least one IP subnet is unknown by the Routers) in this environment. Thus, you need to add route accordingly on each Router. Please understand that we are not quite familiar with the third party product and thus may not be the best resource to provide the instruction regarding how to configure route on the Routers. I suggest contacting the manufacturer since they are specialized and have detailed information about their product. Thank you for your understanding. Have a nice day.
